Linux · Basics

The service agent finds Nginx and Apache and runs the service’s product package on the Linux server.

The service agent on the server fetches the task from the appliance over outbound HTTPS on port 443 and installs the certificate locally on the server. The appliance never connects to the server.

What happens

  1. The service agent on the server fetches the task from the appliance over outbound HTTPS, port 443.
  2. The service agent discovers Nginx and Apache. Select the service’s integration and certificate binding from discovery.
  3. The service’s product package installs, activates and verifies the certificate according to its own requirements.

Note
  • Use the Apache or Nginx package for web servers. Tomcat and WebLogic have separate integrations for keystores. File formats, platform requirements and recovery depend on the product package.
  • For other services you can upload your own script as a custom agent that runs on the server.
